When we shop for watches we often see them in their display boxes, behind a glass case, wrapped around a cushion.. but in a bag of water? Not so much.
Spanish watch group, Festina, has recently started putting their Profundo Dive Watches in clear plastic distilled water-filled bags. Appropriate? We think so. The purpose of this unique concept is to show how the watch can stay for very long lengths of time under water and still be perfectly ok once removed to wear on your wrist.

The Profundo watches come in a few dial styles with water resistance to 200 meters. The watch has a rotating diver's bezel and inside the watch is a Japanese Miyota quartz movement. The strap is available in a 'gummy' material, as referred to by Festina (assuming either silicon, plastic, or rubber). The suggested retail price is about $130. (A Blog to Watch)

What do you think of Festina's marketing technique? It does send a powerful message about durability and utility that's for sure.
